Nickolas Novoa Reflection #2

My Thoughts On Group 3 Recent Project

Once again group 3 presents their project in the big topic of anxiety, and here's what I have to say about that.  To start off, we presented with the study guide portion of our project. This was a very big project due to the fact that we had to add more work towards the assignment overall. But it was not that bad, the study guide is a way of preparing anyone to have an idea of the topic of the chapters. We begin with Nicolas Mejia who does a great job presenting chapter 4 talking about language and how it's context is very significant. Next up was Paulette Lavindar, she presents chapter 11 with brainstorming and creating an engaging speech and its benefits. Vickiana is next in chapters 11 and 12, and smoothly communicates about secondary resources for research. Zaineb is next, and she begins with developing Introductions and conclusions by chapter 12 and 13. She does a great job at this. Monica is next, and she gives out some great pointers on how chapter 13 can help prepare a great presentation. Micheal is next on chapters 13 and 14. He gives us a great head start, explaining how these chapters help us understand the fundamentals of speech in our own way. And finally it is my turn, I talked about chapter 14, and the topic of accurate speaking, which is beneficial towards me. Overall i believe we great as a group in this portion. And now it is time for the power points. The amazing Tailynn presents our group and with our topic of anxiety. Zaineb starts off by explainin what anxiety is and it's origins. Unfortunately a hiccup happened because Maya has had no access to join , during mid presentation for like a few minutes. But we resume with Paulette begins with the research and some information on anxiety, which she does well. Vickiana clearly speaks about panic disorder, with great examples and information. Nicolas talks about social anxiety disorder and perfectly explains the signs and symptoms of it. I am next with PTSD, and I executed quite well, I talked about what has happened with me and others examples overall. Micheal is next and explains OCD, in which he knows how to talk and execute very well. Monica is next in which she talks about separation anxiety, she gives out great examples and talks about how some Americans ignorantly assume the worst when it comes to these symptoms. Next, we have Zaineb who presents our beautiful brochure, which has some small information  importantly a number to call for help and support. Finally Tailynn concludes our projects with some information and helps us end. Our professor believes we did excellent in which I agree we did well as well.

Group 2 is about to present their study guide. I won't be going in depth but overall they did good on the study guide. They provided great sources and explanations on the study guide. They had a great font to work with and was creative. However, within this group, some people did not do their work, which one of the members had to call out, "ouch." Although it was creative for two people to work on the same topic, it did cause the study guide presentation to be extremely short, giving the worst example of the group. We get to the powerpoint portion with group 2, introduced by the amazing Regina. The group's subject is on disabilities within our society. So far they present very well. They include great information, and have nice slides in their powerpoint. They talk about some great points of autism, with treatments, symptoms and examples. They also provide some history and origin of the word which described schizophrenic patients. To finish off, they did very well and presented kindly. I loved their brochure, it was thought out and looked nice. Their coloring for their brochure fits very well with their topic, including their word choice. Overall This group did very well.

Last but not least we move to group 1. Notice how we did a "3,2,1" countdown. Anyways, group one begins with their introductions. To begin with, their study guide was just beautiful and creative. They had very good fonts and backgrounds for the chapters. Their chapters was mainly on norms, self perception and communication. They also talk about the different kinds of friendships or relationships, the different stages of relationships, and how technology and media affect those relationships. Now on to the project, their topic was on dyslexia, ADHD and other learning disabilities. Wow this was great, they were describing the amount of cases dyslexia in the U.S. They also have great short videos to support their details, which is just amazing and something creative a lot of the other groups could have incorporated. The videos describe personal experiences and is a  great educational experience. For those who have dyslexia can relate to what some of those kids in the videos. As the group talks about dysgraphia, language borders, and some visual learning disabilities, not only their presentation had great details of symptoms, history, and facts, but also the videos. I can not stop elaborating just how great and creative this was. Some videos almost get very scientific and just super informative. The details this group provides is great and I am amazed. The amount of attention to detail and facts are very impressive. Other than ADHD, also dive into dyscalculia which is very uncommon but widespread. Some symptoms include anger, agitation and even what group 3 had mentioned, anxiety. Lastly, they end on a video which just expresses freedom and self control. Their brochure that is presented is very cute. It had very great art decisions that fit their topic, such as group 2's. Their font for their words also fit very well. Overall I am very proud of all three groups. We all did amazing and every bit of information was thought out and was passionate. It sucks for this to end quickly, but it was fun.
